WAgent 4.20 EA Release (Nov. 2, 2022)

Follow

Netsweeper is pleased to announce the Netsweeper 4.20 WAgent EA release. This release improves security on all platforms by enforcing https certificate validation unless the new -k argument is used. All customers upgrading that use https for WAgent communication must make sure they have a valid certificate on their WebAdmin or Agent server. This release also brings the initial Chrome V3 Manifest support, we will be posting the 4.20 and 4.30 releases to the Chrome Store for all customers to start to use with their Enterprise Schema. Moving forward Netsweeper wants all customers to use the Chrome Store release of the WAgent with the appropriate enterprise scheme enforced by gSuite, the Windows Registry, or MacOS pList enforcement.

The Chrome Workstation Agent has been updated to use the new v3 manifest. This will be pushed to the Chrome Web Store over the next few days. Chrome will stop supporting the v2 manifest in January 2024 and we are working to support this for all Chrome extensions.

If you have any questions or concerns about planning an upgrade to this release, please contact Netsweeper Technical Supportsupport@netsweeper.com.
