Netsweeper 8.1.4 EA Release (Dec. 5, 2022)

Hover text in the Request Log Viewer would continue to display after the mouse was moved while the log viewer was running.

The List Service, that takes screenshots, has been added in the EL 8 builds.

The Advanced Filter has been updated to display all fields to the left of the table so that filtering is easier and faster.

The WebAdmin can now import and export multiple Lists.

Autocomplete has been turned off for forms.

IP Ranges has been renamed to IP Restrictions in the Account Manager.

The 'Services' window Admin Permissions have been renamed and updated to match the 'Services' window updates.

The Configuration window has been removed from the WebAdmin. Most functions have been added to the Services window.

The default password check has been removed and, by default, a forced password change has been enabled for the admin Account.

All actions in Services now have an associated WebAdmin log entry.

WebAdmin Logs have been added for changes made in Client Filter Settings. Any setting value is now logged with the setting change for improved WebAdmin Log auditing.

Freshnsd is now a separate service and enabled on Upgrade. The new 'List Update' service, in the 'Services' window , can be started, stopped, enabled on boot, and disabled.

The Reporter Settings page has been added to the Services > Add Host window.

Now if the database password in the WebAdmin is in error, all settings are not saved.

The remote server atd did not run commands because a root password was not set.

It was not possible to stop the database on a system running the Reporter and it was not possible to stop the Policy Service on a system running NSProxy.

The 7.2.1 to the 8.1.4 releases are known to have CNS stability issues under heavy CNS load. Possible policy service restarts can occur and still can occur in the 8.1.4 release under heavy load in rare conditions.

The Policy Service would segfault when an invalid configuration was loaded on boot.

The ns_pfring has been upgraded to pfring 8.2.1 for kernel 4.18.4.18.0-372.32.1.0.1.el8_6.

The ns_bridge has been upgraded to 8.1.4 for kernel 4.18.0-372.32.1.0.1.el8_6.

The new Intel Adaptive Function driver iavf for PF_RING zero copy support has been added for the E700 network cards.

Support for the fm10k 100Ge network card driver has been deprecated as upstream PF_RING no longer supports this driver. This fm10k_zc driver has been removed from 8.1.4.

The WebAdmin API for list_entry_metadata_get could cause an infinite loop terminated after 600 seconds.

The remote log viewer for Policy Logs, Reporter Logs, Proxy Logs, Up2Date Logs, Directory Sync Logs did not work and would report an error 'API error' to view server logs. Not all parameters were assigned for filter logs.

Additional Chrome Client Filter Platforms have been added to the WebAdmin and Policy Service.

NSProxy now returns an error code if it can't startup allowing Windows, MacOS and all platforms to be able to tell if NSProxy is running or not.

Locked List Entries would display an Error message when saved.

iptables-ebtables have been replaced with ebtables-legacy and ebtables-servers for bridge based filtering in EL8.

The 'Restrict Lookup' checkbox in the Hosts window duplicated the Active checkbox.

The WebAdmin will now force users to Logout when the database changes. The WebAdmin will also logout users connected to a newer/older WebAdmin that is using a database with the wrong version associated with the release.

Adding a Request Log Advanced Filter for 'Server' did not display any logs for any server once the filter was selected in 7.2 to 8.1.3.

Request Log Advanced Filter now uses selectize instead of checkboxes when selecting servers.

The apache .htaccess file is not required for EL8 and has been removed.

Adding Non-netsweeper servers as hosts caused database errors.

The default Directory Sync threads have been changed to 1.

The Directory Sync service now has adjustable memory and log file size settings: 'Directory Sync Maximum Memory (gb)' and 'Directory Sync Maximum Log File Size' in WebAdmin Settings.

The base RPM base has been updated for the 8.1.4 release upgrading over 459 packages and adding new packages for the List Service.
