Netsweeper is pleased to announce the Netsweeper 8.1.8 GA release. This release further backports stability and security fixes to the 8.1 product. Customers who have not yet migrated to the EL8 platform should consider upgrading to the 7.2 EL6 GA release and migrate to the 7.2 EL8 based product prior to upgrading to the 8.1 GA release. Netsweeper continues development of the 8.2 release series which will be introducing many new product features and improvements.

8.1 New Features
General Functionality
- Advanced Search updated to display all fields to the left of the table so searching is easier and faster
- More audit fields added allowing users to see the Date Created, Modified and who did the last change
- Configuration window removed and most functions added to Services
- Services window now one window displaying a list of local and remote servers and the status for each service
- WebDB Hostname validation now uses the 'Server Hostname' and 'Server Name' for authentication instead of only the IP Address
- Global Search Keywords list replaced with the Search Keywords Request Part that can be added to Local, Shared or System Lists
- Theme Editor allows you to change menu, login, error page, favicons, colors and other theme-based information

Added an optional setting to parse the 'X-Forwarded-For: IP Header' for the thin client protocol
Lists
- List Update, (freshnsd utility) now a separate service in Services
- List Update Settings has same functionality as previous releases but now accessed only from the Services
- List Service, that takes screenshots, added to the EL 8
- Import and export multiple Lists
Policy and Account Management
- Can lock a Group and Client to prevent them from being changed or removed
- Simple Account Create removes many of the advanced options
- Clients have been added to the Simple Group view
- Can set a date for a Group to expire so the Clients in the Group no longer belong to the specific Group
- Account Lockouts tab added that displays information on Accounts that are locked out
- First Name, Last Name, and Email Address added to the Accounts window
- Account Status shows status of Account: Expired Password, Blocked, Login, Logout, and Timeout Alert
- Ability to require a password for a created Account
- Can Import and Export Account Permissions and Permission Templates
Reporter
- Reporter Settings page added to the Services > Add Host window
- Can optionally backup the Reporter database with the instances
Security
- WebAdmin Lockout can now be set per cookie instead of per source IP
- WebAdmin Lockout forces users to do captcha challenge rather then completely blocking ability to log in
- Inactive Password Age will lockout Account if the user does not change password within the number of days set
- Can select if the Report should be sent as email body, attached file or URLs. If feature enabled, Report email links cannot be sent
- Viewing Report data can now optionally require WebAdmin authentication
- Login Lockout Duration sets the maximum session with the same source IP
- Account Lockouts tab displays Locked Out Accounts
- Ability to require a password for a created Account
- Audit fields added for quick in-product auditing : Date Created, Modified and who did the last change
