Overview of Netsweeper Category Revisions
Netsweeper strives to be innovative and responsive. We are committed to constantly improving our products and services. Just as the internet itself constantly changes and evolves, so must we. As part of this commitment, we continually review our world-leading categorization, and revise and publish updates as needed.
This is done through our Category Revisions, allowing us to refine our categories whilst allowing our customers to upgrade the Revision they use when it is appropriate for them.
Upgrading Category Revisions
Netsweeper does not force category changes on our customers when they upgrade their Policy Server versions; instead allowing customers to manage these revisions on their own. We will provide the latest category update when upgrading; but it is up to customers to review and publish these revisions when they are confident there won't be any conflict to their current deployment.
Category Version Table
The following table lists information about each category version, including the releases that apply the category version, as well as the categories that have been added, removed or modified.
The table consists of four columns: The Category Version, the Netsweeper Release when the corresponding version was first provided, the Change log of any categories that were added or modified, and the Map to column denotes when a category was added or modified to be a sub-category of another one. (e.g., Streaming Media being 'Mapped to' Entertainment in Version 4).
