Summary
A Policy Event is a period of time over which a Policy applies to a Group and its member Clients. Having multiple Policy Events allows you to set different levels of access at different times of the day or week.
Managing Policy Events
You can add, modify, or delete Policy Events directly on the Policy Calendar page.
Creating a second Policy Event
In the following example, we will add a second Policy for a Group and schedule it using the Policy Events Calendar.
In your WebAdmin, navigate to Policies > Groups and select the Group you wish to manage.
Navigate to the Group's Policies tab and then the List sub-tab, select the default Policy.
Rename the Policy After_School and (optionally) provide a description. Select Submit to save your Policy.
Navigate to the Categories tab and configure the Category Template as desired. In this example, we will remove the Social Networking and Streaming Media categories.
Next, be sure to apply any Shared Lists and Local List rules to the Policy (as needed).
When you are done, use your breadcrumbs to navigate back to the Group and ensure you are still on the Policies' List sub-tab. Select the Create button to create a second Policy.
Name this second Policy Shool_Hours and (optionally) add a description. Select submit to save your changes. The new Policy now appears, but with an error icon. This is because we have not scheduled this Policy yet. First however, we should configure our Policy as desired.
Select the new Policy and configure its Category Template and Lists as desired. When you are ready, use your breadcrumbs to navigate back to the Group and browse to the Policies' Calendar sub-tab. Select the Create button.
Scheduling the Policy Event
In the Create Event pop-up window, configure the Policy Event as follows:
- Set the Start Day and the Stop day to Monday.
- Set the Start Time to 8:00 and the Stop Time to 16:00.
- Select the Multiple Days checkbox.
- Add Monday - Friday in the Day Selection field.
- Select the School_Hours Policy.
- Set a custom color that will stand out against the After_School's red color.
- Select the Save button to apply your changes.
Your Policy Events Calendar will now look like this:
