Summary
List Restrictions allow Admin and SysOp users to narrow the scope of what types of entries and rules can be added to a given List. You can apply various List Restrictions while creating a List, or you can add them later. The below example uses an existing List, but the Restriction options are available during the Create List process.
Applying List Restrictions
In your WebAdmin, navigate to Policies > Lists, ensure you are on the Shared sub-tab, and choose the desired List.
Browse to the selected List's Settings tab.
Scroll down to the Restrictions section and apply any restrictions as needed.
For this example, let's apply one of each type of restriction, as follows:
- For Restrict Actions, choose Allow.
- For Restrict Types, choose URL.
- For Restrict Request Part, choose Request URL.
Select the Save Changes button to apply our new settings.
This limits entries added to this List to be Allow rules, and only for URLs, specifically the Request URL.
To ensure the settings are working as intended, navigate to the List's Entries tab and select the New Entry button.
As expected, there is no Action or Request Part fields available. This is because we have limited the types for these fields to one type, removing the need for any selection.
Please note: The Entry Type field is still selectable, since the Default Action Entry Type is always available.
