Netsweeper is pleased to announce the Client Filter 13.70 GA release. This release contains several improvements for iOS, MacOS, and the Chrome Mv3 Manifest. The 13.70 release also improves how we handle Branded deployments via MDM rollouts. The Client Filter 13 release-series introduced a new configuration UI supported on all Client Filter platforms, from Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android. The Windows and MacOS release now store this configuration in a database in order to avoid issues with AV software, which may lock the configuration file and cause configuration changes to fail.
The 13 release cycle also introduced major stability improvements for the Chrome MV3 Client Filter extension. The 13.70 GA release is available in the Chrome, Apple, and Android stores in order to allow customers to start taking advantage of the major improvements in the Client Filter 13 release series. All customers are recommended to upgrade to the 13.70 GA release.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the upgrade to this release, please reach out to Netsweeper Technical Support at support@netsweeper.com.
Changelog 13.70
| Issue Type | Ticket | Summary |
|---|---|---|
| Improvement | CF-498 | The Chrome Mv3 Manifest now runs in the Firefox browser for Android and the Mv3 code now also supports the Mv2 Manifest. |
| Improvement | CF-871 | The MacOS Client Filter could initialize faster then the Operating System services, causing a deadlock during boot. We now restart our service if the initialization process takes over 5 seconds to complete. |
| Improvement | CF-872 | Changed the default iOS Netsweeper Client Filter browser's home page to an empty screen instead of the previous www.netsweeper.com default. |
| Improvement | CF-874 | Added additional MacOS installation metadata to indicate we can run directly on 'M series' hardware and removed the x64 installer build. |
| Improvement | CF-875 | The Chrome Mv3 nMonitor Client would fail to use the System Cookie when running in RUS mode. |
| Improvement | CF-878 | The uninstall function for the MacOS Client now removes the PKG receipt. |
| Improvement | CF-879 | Updated the plist to include any xml metadata required. |
| Bug | CF-880 | Windows Client Filter 7.56 to 13.50 did not deliver offline nMonitor events or failed nMonitor Event uploads due to a permission issue within the c:\programdata\netsweeper directory. |
| Bug | CF-883 | Installing the Client Filter using a MDM-configured Brand would prompt for the 'Default' brand on MacOS after installation, resulting in the Access Key not working. |
| Improvement | CF-884 | The MacOS Client Filter would fail to deny a HTTP flow if the Policy Server responded slower then the remote server. |
| Improvement | CF-886 | MacOS Tahoe would remove the system extension when a MDM profile for the system extension was redeployed. This caused ManageEngine MDM and Jamf to uninstall the Client. The 13.60+ builds will reinstall upon reboot if this occurs. |
| Bug | CF-888 | The Client Filter Settings and UI would not launch when running on a Macbook Neo with MacOS Tahoe 26. |
| Bug | CF-902 | Resolved an issue with iOS MDM Profile expansion and upload names. |
