Summary
The issue arises when users connect to Wi-Fi networks with captive portals, where acceptance of terms or premium Wi-Fi advertisements is required before accessing the internet. Netsweeper, our filtering system, is currently blocking these portal sites, rendering the internet inaccessible despite Wi-Fi connection. Each different location is going to have a slightly different portal and without being on location with them, it is going to be very difficult to troubleshoot.
Solution
To address the connectivity issue caused by Netsweeper filtering captive portal sites, it's crucial to ensure the Client Filter version is up to date. Additionally, in the Client Filter user configuration, ensure that the Fail Close flag is not enabled. This adjustment should allow users to access captive portals without interruption, restoring seamless internet connectivity.
