Overview
Netsweeper Reporting allows for several different types of Report Outputs, (how the information within your Report is tallied and presented). Whether you need detailed table data, statistical info, or a multi-layer pie Chart, the Netsweeper Reporter can deliver.
Detailed Walkthroughs
When creating or editing a Report, the Report Output section determines how the data is presented. There are three available Output types; Summary Group, Top Estimation, and Report Details.
Please Note: This document only discusses Report Outputs, It is not within the scope of this article to cover the full Report Creation Process.
Summary Group
The Summary Group Output type allows you to group related data and create graphical presentations with the summarized results, such as bar graphs and pie charts.
- Choose the Add Summary Group option from the Report Output section.
- Select the 'Group Data by' dropdown and choose a data set. (e.g., All Categories).
- Next, choose any desired data fields via the 'Fields' dropdown. (e.g., Request Count Percent).
- Select the Add Presentation button to choose how your data is displayed.
- Select the desired graphical output via the 'Display' dropdown. (e.g., Pie chart).
- You can define any of the available options as desired, or leave them set to their default values.
- Select the Save button to apply your Presentation.
- Select the Save button to apply your Report Output.
When you've finished and run your Report, it should appear similar to the following:
Top Estimation
The Top Estimation output allows you to summarize the data using a quick estimation of the top results, such as the top 10 allowed websites, or the top 10 denied websites, etc.
- Choose the Add Top Estimation option from the Report Output section.
- Select the 'Group Data by' dropdown and choose a data set. (e.g., URI).
- Next, choose any desired data fields via the 'Fields' dropdown. (e.g., Requests Denied).
- Select the Add Presentation button to choose how your data is displayed.
- Select the desired graphical output via the 'Display' dropdown. (e.g., Bar chart).
- You can define any of the available options as desired, or leave them set to their default values.
- Select the Save button to apply your Presentation.
- Select the Save button to apply your Report Output.
When you've finished and run your Report, it should appear similar to the following:
Report Details
The Report Details output allows you to show specific details for each individual request. Unlike the other output types, this selection only allows for table data, so there are no Presentation options.
- Choose the Add Report Details option from the Report Output section.
- There is no 'Group Data by' field for this output type.
- Choose desired data fields via the 'Fields' dropdown. (e.g., Date, Client Name, URI, Denied Flag).
- Select the Save button to apply your Report Output.
When you've finished and run your Report, it should appear similar to the following.
