Overview
Netsweeper's Reporter is a powerful tool that can be used to create Reports that track very specific parameters.
In this example, we will create a Report that tracks what websites a user visited as well as how long they were on each site (in seconds).
Creating the Report
- In your WebAdmin, navigate to Reports > Demand Reports and select the Create Report (+) button.
- Choose the 'Custom' tab and give your Report a name and optionally a description. Select Date Range.
- Provide a custom date range with the Calendar popup and select the Apply button.
- Select the Add Filter button.
- Set the Field option to 'Client Name' Field, select the desired Value (Client name) and Save your Filter.
- In the 'Report Output' section, choose the Add Summary Group option.
- In the 'Add Summary Group' popup window, set the Group Data By field to 'Domain of URI'.
- Add 'Online Time Estimation' to the Fields section. Select the Add Presentation button.
- In the 'Presentation' popup window, set the Display field to 'Bar Chart'. Save your Presentation and Summary Group
- Select the Save Report button to finish building this Report.
- The Report displays.
Each bar in the graph represents a domain the user browsed, and the value of each bar is the time (in seconds) the user spent on each domain.
Customizing This Report
There are several variances and modifications that can be applied to this type of Report, a few examples:
- Create the Report with a different Presentation type, such as Pie chart or Sunburst chart.
- Create it as a 'Scheduled' Report, (such as Daily,) instead a Demand Report.
- Apply additional Filters, such as for a specific domain(s) or only Report on allowed (or denied) requestes.
- Change the 'Client' Filter to a 'Group' Filter and add 'Client Name' into the Summary Group fields.
