Overview
Netsweeper supports various types of Reports, (Demand, Scheduled, and Continuous). This article will outline the difference in each of the types.
Demand Reports
Demand Reports are run once and are configured to report on usage during a specific time or date range.
With the 'Report Type' set to 'Demand', simply select the Calendar buttons to set your custom date and times in the Create/Edit Report window.
The Report will run, gathering only data within the range that you have set. Once the Report has run, it will stop processing, but still be accessible until it is removed.
Scheduled Reports
Scheduled Reports are similar to Demand Reports but they run periodically, on a configured schedule.
With the 'Report Type' set to 'Scheduled', select an interval for the Report to gather data from.
Use the Make report for field to determine when the first interval should be run for:
This Report will continue to run again once each interval is reached.
Continuous Reports
Continuous Reports are also run regularly, (like Scheduled Reports,) but the data is compiled, cumulatively, into one report. They are usually used to generate data for graphs that show high-level usage over a period of time.
With the Report Type set to 'Continuous', you still set the desired Interval, but there is no 'Make report for' field.
